As you know completing a Champaign CCW 16 hour training course qualifies in Florida as the necessary education and training requirement for a Florida CCW.  There has been some information floating back and forth as to whether an IPS training certificate (as issued by Champaign CCW) passes muster for acceptance for a Floriday CCW. From what I can tell the answer is "sometimes" and probably depends on which clerk is processing the application adn their level of training. The answer is "always" if your instructor is also an NRA instructor and makes their NRA instructor number available.

Fortunately for students of Champaign CCW your instructor IS an NRA certified instructor and from now on will be printing this information on the ISP certificate even though it’s not required.

For those of you who might encounter an issue with this please contact me and I’ll send you either my NRA Instructor number or an updated certificate in PDF form that you can then print out and submit. Sorry for the trouble, but predicting each states bureaucracy is more than a full time job. Yet we try.. J
